To reduce inventory, Samsung's Vietnam cell phone factory is rumored to shut down for two weeks in December

November 18, according to Korean media ETNews, Samsung's smartphone factory in Vietnam is scheduled to shut down for two weeks in December, which is seen as a proactive measure taken by Samsung to reduce production in order to de-stocking.

According to the report, Samsung's Vietnam smartphone factory is its largest smartphone production base in the world, carrying half of Samsung's mobile device production volume. In addition to the most serious period of the new crown epidemic, Samsung has never let its smartphone factory shut down for more than 2 weeks, which indicates that the current smartphone market is quite severe, demand still has no signs of recovery.
Industry sources say that Samsung smartphone sales are sluggish, so it began to adjust inventory, lower production line crop rate or shutdown, are possible means to take. Although Samsung has not yet explicitly announced, but Samsung senior prefer Vietnam factory shutdown more than 2 weeks of the program.
In addition, rumors also indicate that Samsung also plans to fully inventory at the end of November, do not rule out the possibility of staff "leave" at that time.
Foreign media believe that the shutdown may also spread to other Samsung cell phone factories, such as production after the Vietnam plant in India, Brazil, Indonesia and Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea.
It is worth mentioning that previous reports show that Samsung plans to significantly reduce the expectations of next year's smartphone shipments, compared to this year's original shipment target, cut the list of about 30 million, mainly involving Samsung sales of the main A series and M series of low-end models.
