Jan. 11, 2023 - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) recently announced the availability of four new electronic fuses in small 3 mm x 3 mm TDFN packages with adjustable current limits and overvoltage protection (OVP) - the SiP32433A/B and SiP32434A/B. The 3.5 A SiP32433A/B and 6 A SiP32434A/B operate over the 2.8 V to 23 V input voltage range - up to 28 VIN DC - and integrate multiple control and protection functions, simplifying designs and reducing the number of external components required.
The recently announced Vishay Siliconix single-channel load switch has a wide input voltage range for use in a wide range of designs. Most competing products on the market operate at only 18 V, or lack the low end of the voltage range. Suitable for industrial and medical equipment, robotics, consumer products, home automation systems and gaming consoles, the devices provide precise control and fast fault response, enhancing system design safety and reliability. The SiP32433A and SiP32434A turn off the power switch when the application shuts down due to a latching fault, while the SiP32433B and SiP32434B automatically retry after a preset time is reached.

All four devices can make fast short-circuit responses and initiate precise overcurrent protection (OCP) when the preset current limit is reached, eliminating the need for increased current margins - an important feature of power bus support for multi-load designs. The SiP32433A and SiP32433B support active reverse current blocking for USB Type-C and multi-power switching applications.
The 43% lower load switch on-resistance compared to previous generation solutions means 32% higher current flow or higher efficiency at the same current level. 78 mW SiP32433A/B current limit settings range from 0.3 A to 3.5 A and 33 mW SiP32434A/B current limit settings range from 0.5 A to 6 A. These devices have current limit These devices have a current limit accuracy of ± 8 %, increasing design flexibility and simplifying the bill of materials (BOM). The hot-swappable load switches are programmable for on/off rates, ESD tolerance of 2Kv (human model) and 0.75Kv (powered device model), and operating temperatures of -40 °C to +125 °C.
