X-FAB Announced $200 Million Investment in US to Expand SiC Production

        German wafer foundry X-Fab has announced plans to expand its foundry operations in Lubbock, Texas, according to foreign media reports.
        The company, which has been operating in Lubbock for more than 20 years, will make a major investment over the next five years, the first phase of which will amount to US$200 million, to increase production of silicon carbide semiconductors at the site, the report said. The expansion is said to create another 250 jobs in Lubbock, with more investments to follow, depending on market demand.
