Analysts expect Samsung Electronics chip business to lose 3.3 trillion won in the first quarter

        According to reports, multiple unfavorable factors led to the decline in demand for consumer electronics products, has affected the important source of profit of Samsung Electronics memory chip business, revenue in the third and fourth quarters of last year fell by more than 20% year-on-year ring, where the operating profit of the device solutions sector, year-on-year ring also fell sharply.
       As the trend of declining demand for consumer electronics continues, Samsung Electronics' memory chip business is still facing pressure on its performance, and analysts expect Samsung Electronics' chip business unit to post a loss in the first quarter of this year.
 
        Analysts expect Samsung Electronics chip business in the device solutions division, in the first quarter of this year will be 14 years after the loss again, the last time or in the first quarter of 2009. 
        Specifically for the chip business, an analyst in South Korea is expected to post a loss of 3.3 trillion won, or about $2.5 billion.
The analyst expects that in Samsung Electronics' chip business, shipments of DRAM and NAND flash memory, in the first quarter, are expected to decline by 13% and 12%, respectively, while profits from the foundry business are also expected to decline on a year-on-year basis due to slowing demand. 
        Samsung Electronics' chip business, which accounts for a significant portion of the device solutions division's revenue, exceeded 50% in both the third and fourth quarters of last year, and a loss in the chip business will inevitably affect the device solutions division as well. 
        For the device solutions division, a South Korean analyst expects the operating loss to be even larger in the first quarter, which is expected to reach 4.1 trillion won.
