On August 29, according to the latest DigiTimes report, TSMC is unlikely to see a significant increase in 3nm chip orders before 2024. Sources said that due to the delay in Intel's procurement, Apple will pack all 3nm production capacity of TSMC this year for the upcoming iPhone, Mac and iPad.

On the iPhone 6S, Apple tried to split production of Series A chips between TSMC and Samsung for production. Later, TSMC won all the orders for the A10 Fusion in Apple's iPhone 7 through more advanced technology, and has since become the only foundry for A-series chips. Of course, the same is true for Apple Silicon used in Macs and iPads, which currently controls all of Apple's chip manufacturing operations.
In fact, as early as May this year, it was reported that Apple had booked nearly 90%25 of TSMC's production capacity for its next-generation devices. However, due to Intel's later revision of the CPU production plan, this also means that Apple has won TSMC's 2023 production capacity 100%25. The industry believes that the delay in Intel's order means that TSMC's 3nm chip sales will drop significantly this year, and the industry source said TSMC is still expected to achieve significant growth in the fourth quarter, because it has already begun mass production of 3nm chips to meet Apple's needs.
The data shows that TSMC's 3nm chip production in the fourth quarter may be reduced to 500000-60000 per month from the previously expected 80000-100000 wafers (wafers). The source said the current monthly output of    TSMC's 3nm process is only about 65,000 pieces.
According to the previous scores exposed by the A17 Bionic processor (iPhone 15 Pro), the A17 will continue to use a 6-core CPU similar to the A16, and the Geekbench 6 results show that the clock speed of the two performance cores is the same at 3.70GHz. The results show that A17 has a core solo score of 3,269 in the benchmark test, an improvement of 31%25 over A16. In the multi-core test, the gap is not that big, the A17 score is 24%25 higher than the A16, but it is still very good.
These score results make people look forward to the upcoming iPhone 15 series, but it should be pointed out that these score results have the possibility of modification or forgery, so before Apple officially releases the iPhone 15 series, we still have to maintain a certain skepticism.
