Intel plans to return to the world's number one EUV process within two years

        Intel used to be the world leader in advanced chip processes, but had some problems at the 14nm to 10nm node and was not the first to mass produce the EUV process, which led to a decline in market share. However, Intel is also trying to catch up, and from the CEO's roadmap Intel plans to return to the world's number one EUV process within two years.
 
 
        Intel's current mass production process is Intel 7, and from next year the 14th generation Core will enter the Intel 4 process, which is also Intel's first EUV process. In the first half of 2024, Intel will mass-produce the 20A process, while the 18A process, originally planned for 2025, has been brought forward to the second half of 2024. These two generations of processes will abandon the FinFET transistor process in favour of two of Intel's most advanced technologies - RibbonFET, an Intel version of the GAA transistor, and PowerVia, Intel's first and exclusive backside power technology. This means that Intel will achieve mass production of its three generation EUV process within 1-2 years and that the technology is at a world leading level.
