According to media reports, Tesla CEO Elon Musk will visit China this week, which, if confirmed, will be his first visit to China in three years. Musk is also expected to visit Tesla's Shanghai factory during his 2023 China trip.
It is worth noting that in March this year, it was reported that Musk would visit China, and some media speculated that it might be related to Tesla FSD.
FSD, or "Full Self Driving Capability," has been open in the North American market and has been tested for more than a year, but Tesla FSD has not been able to land in the country due to the restrictions of the relevant policies.
Tesla has reportedly submitted plans to the local government to expand the powertrain capacity of its Shanghai plant to 1.75 million units per year. The company also said in April that it would build a plant in Shanghai to produce Megapack energy storage products, but Tesla has yet to provide any details on its plans to increase production at its Shanghai plant by 450,000 vehicles per year.
