Nedeco Machine Tools Corporation, a subsidiary of Nidec Group, launched a new model of gantry machining center "MV12BxII" on February 3. The new model was developed based on the concept of "a high-efficiency machine for 'all kinds of machining in all kinds of industries'". This gantry machining center achieves higher productivity in its class due to its compact size, as it achieves higher feed rates in its class and significantly reduces non-cutting time. In addition, the spindle and feed axis are all lubricated with grease and the electric power unit is used to achieve environmentally friendly operation, thanks to energy saving and reduced operating costs. The machine can support a wide range of production plants, from high precision surface quality machining to general parts machining, and from light cutting to heavy cutting. The machine will be presented for the first time at our large-scale equipment exhibition on February 21 and 22.

The MV12BxII features extremely fast feed rates of 48m/min in the X-axis and 32m/min in the Y and Z-axes, reducing non-cutting time. In addition, the maximum spindle speed is 7,000 min-1 and motor output has been increased to 26 kW, while the compact machine footprint (3.4 x 5.8 m) and maximized operating area (1.6 m for X-axis stroke and 1.3 m for Y-axis stroke) ensure the high productivity of a gantry machining center with a No. 50 spindle in its class.

The machine adopts an energy-saving, low-noise electric power unit that operates the pump unit only when necessary, significantly reducing power consumption compared to hydraulic units that are normally driven at regular intervals. In addition, the tribological technology developed by our company enables grease to be used as a lubricant for the spindle and feed axis, thus reducing the amount of air and lubricant consumed, thereby reducing operating costs and the operator's workload.
In addition, a variety of optional specifications are available in conjunction with user needs, and these diverse options were developed in conjunction with Nedeco OKK, which has an extensive lineup of machining centers for small and medium-sized machines. A detailed menu to meet the various needs of customers is available, including an automatically openable operation door and coolant spray, and an optional chip conveyor.
