SK Hynix Fully Promotes Commercialization of World's Highest Rate LPDDR5T DRAMs

        SEOUL, South Korea, November 13, 2023 - SK Hynix (or 'the Company', https://www.skhynix.com) announced on November 13 that the Company is officially supplying customers with LPDDR5T (Low Power Double Data Rate 5 Turbo) ) 16GB (Gigabit) capacity kit product, which is the fastest mobile DRAM product to date, realizing a transfer speed of 9.6Gpbs (Gigabit per second).
 
 
        LPDDR (Low Power Double Data Rate): A DRAM specification for mobile products such as smartphones and tablets that features low-voltage operation with the aim of minimizing power consumption. LPDDR5X DRAM is a seventh-generation product, which has been developed in the order of 1-2-3-4-4X-5. LPDDR5T is the industry's first product developed by SK Hynix and is the eighth-generation LPDDR5T. LPDDR5T is the first product developed by SK Hynix in the industry, and it is a product that further upgrades the performance of the seventh-generation LPDDR (5X) before the eighth-generation LPDDR6 is officially introduced.
        Since the successful development of LPDDR5T in January of this year, SK Hynix has continued to advance the commercialization of this product through performance verification with mobile application processor (AP) manufacturers around the world. 
        Mobile AP: A semiconductor chip that serves as the "brain" in mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets. It is also the central processing element in a system-on-chip (SoC), which is a single chip that combines a complete set of products and systems such as computing, graphics and digital signal processing. 
        SK Hynix said that LPDDR5T is the best memory product so far that can realize the most significant increase in the performance of smartphones with unprecedented rates. The company also emphasized that it will continue to expand the application scope of this product to further lead the renewal of the mobile DRAM field.
        LPDDR5T's 16 GB capacity kit product operates in the standard range of 1.01 to 1. 12V (volts), the minimum voltage specified by the International Organization for Standardization of Semiconductors (JEDEC). The product has a data processing speed of 77 GB per second, which is equivalent to transferring 15 Full-High Definition (Full-HD, FHD) movies per second. 
        The company recently formalized the supply of the product to global smartphone maker Vivo, which also announced that its latest smartphones, the X100 and X100 Pro, will both be equipped with SK Hynix's latest memory kit products. 
        The smartphones will also be equipped with MediaTek's top-of-the-line AP platform, the Tengui 9300. In August, SK Hynix confirmed that it had completed performance validation with MediaTek's next-generation mobile APs. 
        Myung-soo Park, Vice President of DRAM Marketing at SK Hynix, said, "With the rapid development of AI technology, smartphones are becoming important devices equipped with end-side AI technology. There is a growing market demand for high-performance and high-capacity mobile DRAM products."
