The first product of TCL Huaxing's 8.6 generation oxide semiconductor new display device project (t9 project) was successfully lit up, nearly 3 months earlier than originally planned.
According to the publicly disclosed information, TCL Huaxing t9 project with a total investment of 35 billion yuan, planning to build a monthly capacity of 180,000 glass substrates G8.6 generation oxide semiconductor display panel production line and supporting module factory. The project focuses on medium-sized IT and professional display LCD panel production line, using self-developed HFS and high mobility oxide technology, which can achieve larger size, higher refresh rate, higher resolution products, the project can produce 6-100-inch display panels and modules products, including cell phones and other small-sized products, flat panels, laptops, car, monitors, etc. Medium-sized products, and large-sized products such as TVs and commercial displays.
TCL Huaxing COO Zhao Jun said at the lighting ceremony that the first product lighting is nearly 3 months earlier than originally planned, which is the fastest LCD panel lighting schedule in the world and once again sets a new industry record. He said that as a LCD panel production line mainly for medium size IT and professional display, the t9 project will give full play to its technical advantages, scale advantages and efficiency advantages. He said that he strives to advance mass production in the second half of this year and build t9 into a global leading agile factory.
According to the reporter, compared to the lower generation line, TCL Huaxing t9 procured the latest exposure machine and back-end equipment, which has a competitive advantage in producing new technologies and in producing main sizes such as 14.5 inches. After mass production, it will contribute more large size LCD capacity to TCL Huaxing and promote its panel business diversification strategy to the ground. Sigmaintell expects that TCL Huaxing's large-size panel capacity area will reach more than 63 million square meters by 2025, an increase of about 45% from 2021. More importantly, its new production capacity will focus on IT applications, making up for the current shortcomings of TCL Huaxing.
The industry believes that the t9 project is expected to make up for TCL Huaxing's shortcomings in the layout of medium-sized panel production capacity, and is also expected to reshape the competitive landscape of the medium-sized LCD market for IT.
