Us stock semiconductor collectively lower: AMD / NV / Intel fell

        The semiconductor sector was generally lower at the opening of the US stock market on 1 July, with ON Semiconductor down 3.4%, AMD down 3.2%, NVIDIA and UMC down 2.8%, Qualcomm down 2% and Intel down 1.75%. 
 
 
 
       The collective decline in the share prices of US semiconductor companies is linked to changes in market demand, with Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra warning at today's earnings meeting that revenues will fall sharply in the coming quarter. 
        Sanjay Mehrotra said that at the end of last quarter, most of its customers had already refused to buy large quantities of memory chips they had previously ordered, and based on Micron's results, he predicted that sales in the smartphone market would fall by 5% and PC market sales by 10%.
        While 5% and 10% may not sound like much, that corresponds to almost 130 million mobile phones and 30 million PCs, and that demand will disappear this year, dealing a big blow to the entire technology industry.
